The same routine, in two formats

Both brands describe the same habit. Clorox says to mist walls, doors and curtains immediately after showering, then leave it alone. The spray works best on warm, wet walls; Clorox says it works less well once surfaces have dried, so spray while the bathroom is still steamy rather than at bedtime.

Anyone in the family can do it. Clorox's directions say "DO NOT rinse, wipe, or scrub," and Melaleuca describes No Work as a no-rinse daily shower cleaner. Whoever showers last mists the walls and closes the door.

Concentrate and a reusable bottle, or a bottle that's ready

No Work 12x is a super-concentrated formula in an 8 fl oz bottle. Melaleuca's EcoSense directions say to fill a mixing spray bottle with concentrate to the marked line, then top it up with tap water. There is no measuring cup involved.

The mixing spray bottle is sold separately, so you will need one before your first use. It is a one-time purchase that you refill each time.

Melaleuca says its ultra-concentrated cleaners avoid unnecessary fillers and excess water, letting customers pay for what matters and get a lower cost per use. When the spray bottle runs out, you refill it from the same small concentrate bottle, which takes far less shelf space than a stack of full-size sprays.

Tilex Daily Shower comes in a 32 oz bottle, filled and ready to use, with nothing to measure or mix. When it runs low, you pick up another bottle on a regular store trip.

What each brand says about its formula

Clorox's product page calls Tilex a "bleach-free daily shower cleaner" that works by forming a physical barrier. It describes two main ingredients: a solvent that loosens greasy soils and a mild chelating agent that breaks down dirt and soap scum so warm shower water can rinse them off surfaces.

Melaleuca's cleaning guide lists daily shower sprays among the products No Work replaces. On its EcoSense page, the company says its cleaning products are "designed to be safer, effective, affordable and eco-friendly," and that they use biodegradable ingredients and concentrated formulas to reduce plastic and shipping. Those are Melaleuca's own descriptions of its products.

What mixing it yourself saves you

One 8 fl oz bottle of No Work 12x makes six 16 fl oz bottles of spray, which is 96 fl oz, or three 32 oz bottles' worth. At $10.00 regular, that is about $3.33 per 32 oz of spray. At the $6.99 preferred member price, it is about $2.33 per 32 oz.

Tilex runs $4.49 to $5.29 for 32 oz. Side by side, mixing No Work yourself costs 26% to 56% less per 32 oz of spray, depending on which prices you compare. The mixing spray bottle is a separate one-time purchase, so count it in your first refill.

Forbes ranked Melaleuca No. 2 on its 2026 America's Best Brands for Value list, based on about 4.7 million consumer ratings collected with the research firm HundredX.

Where you can buy each one

Melaleuca sells No Work 12x through its own product store. The regular price is $10.00, and preferred members pay $6.99. One small concentrate bottle then lasts through many refills of your mixing bottle.

Clorox Plus Tilex Daily Shower is sold ready-made at major retail stores and online. Clorox doesn't list a price on its product page, and store prices vary. You add a bottle to the cart on a regular shopping trip whenever the last one runs out.

Questions about No Work and Tilex

Do you need to rinse or scrub afterward?

No. Both brands say to spray and walk away. Clorox's directions state "DO NOT rinse, wipe, or scrub," and Melaleuca describes No Work as a no-rinse daily shower cleaner. Clorox's spray is meant for warm, wet walls right after a shower.

Do you need a separate bottle for No Work?

Yes, once. The concentrate does not come with a bottle, so you will need Melaleuca's mixing spray bottle or a similar reusable bottle, which you refill each time.

Are there surfaces to avoid?

Both brands flag natural stone and marble, so spray around a marble vanity top or a natural stone shower floor. Clorox also says not to use its spray on brass or damaged or cracked surfaces, such as brass fixtures or a chipped tile edge.

Glazed tile, fiberglass, acrylic and glass doors are among the surfaces both describe as fair game, and those cover most family showers.

Which spray fits your household?

Clorox Plus Tilex Daily Shower suits the grab-and-spray household. It works out of the box, is sold at major retail stores and online, and needs only a mist after the last shower of the day.

No Work 12x suits someone who likes refilling one bottle from a small concentrate. Melaleuca says its ultra-concentrated cleaners make six 16 fl oz bottles, and at the $6.99 member price each bottle costs about $1.17. You buy a mixing bottle once and add tap water at each refill.
